Mercedes Vito

I’ve owned my van for 5 years & never got round to pimping my ride, as the body shop customers always came first, & being busy i couldn’t take time out to give my Vito an overhaul. I thought the last few weeks would have been quiet so I took my Vito into the body shop to start it. The phone didn’t stop ringing. It took me over 5 weeks as the work came flooding in. There were a lot of late nights to get it done.

The van was completely stripped all bumpers, lights, mouldings, handles etc were removed & the van was prepped for paint. The alloys were removed and also prepped for paint.

1st stage
Was to paint the roof, half of the rear doors, bonnet, grill & partial front bumper in pearl dark grey.

2nd stage
Was to mask off the pearl dark grey & paint the rest of the van in a pearl light grey to give it a two tone finish. The green pin stripe was applied to the rear doors to separate the colour. The van was then painted in 5 coats of PPG lacquer, block sanded & polished. All mouldings, handles, bumpers, grill badge, & mirror caps were painted in the light pearl grey & also coated in PPG lacquer, block sanded & polished.

3rd stage
The alloys were prepped & painted in dark grey pearl. graphics applied & coated in PPG lacquer. The van was then rebuilt. All new brakes were fitted to front & rear. The callipers were also painted to finish the effect.

The rear doors were sign written by HB graphics to achieve the overall finish as shown below.

It’s amazing what can be achieved with colour selection & vision. Wow wee what a beauty.
